USHERS MINISTRY

The men and women of our Ushers and Safety Team are often the first people newcomers will meet at our church, so this is one of the most important ministries that sets the tone for our weekly worship services. First impressions make all the difference! This is a ministry of “Helps” (1 Cor. 12:28) representing the love of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Our Ushers Ministry is part of our Welcome Team, and those involved with this ministry provide service to all those attending Calvary Chapel Escondido. Our vision is to serve the people, and we want the people who come and go through the front doors to feel welcomed and loved, so we greet the people with a smile and are prepared to offer assistance in getting seated, directing them where they need to go, or offering a word of prayer when needed. Basically, it’s just being available to help!

Our Ushers are those who stand at the front doors to greet the people with a smile as they are coming into the building from the parking lot and handing them a bulletin. It is an opportunity to make a loving first impression on those visiting for the first time. Ushers are there to offer assistance with seating, inform visitors about children’s ministry, observing the seating situation and bring in more chairs if needed. Ushers also observe the congregation during worship services to lovingly come alongside those disrupting the service (1 Cor. 14:40).

Our Safety Team are those who serve to make sure the people are safe and secure and works to hinder any improprieties on grounds by patrolling the parking lot and the building, especially the children’s ministry areas.

Each volunteer in this ministry must fill out a ministry application, conduct a LiveScan criminal background check, and be trained and interviewed by the church leadership.
